Welcome to Whitestown Youth Hockey's Learn to Skate program!

Due to the changes in our available ice this season and current COVID 19 restrictions, the association is releasing a schedule for all levels one month at a time. For the month of November, LTS will meet on:

Wednesdays from 5:00 pm - 5:50 pm

Sundays from 7:30 am - 8:20 am

Whitestown is excited to welcome LTS Instructor, Courtney Gouger. The association has been looking for someone to create a strong and consistent  foundation at this level for sometime. Courtney brings a combined 20 years of experience in competitive figure skating, skating knowledge and teaching. When not on the ice, Coach Courtney is a speech language pathologist with preschool aged children. Her professional and recreational experience makes her a wonderful addition to WYHA.

A few details:

1) Equipment will be available to rent for the session. If you need a bag of equipment we must know ahead of time because we cannot freely get into the equipment room this year. $50 for a bag with $25 returned to you when the equipment is returned at the end of the session. Rental bags consist of a full set of gear (you provide the skates) but USA Hockey only requires a helmet, gloves and skates. Coach Courtney suggests a pair of snow pants as the full set of equipment can be cumbersome to small children. Snow pants keep them warm while on the ice, but allow them to move around freely.

2) Please arrive by 4:30 on Wednesday, November 4th for a brief parent meeting on what to expect, goals for the program and a brief overview of what your child(ren) will be learning.

3) The town of Whitestown is not allowing parents or spectators in the building at this current time (please see attached flyer from the town for additional restrictions). In order to abide by the current restriction, no more than 30 (yes, the flyer says 25, but the number has since been raised) people in the building at one time. Please understand that our goal is to keep kids skating at all levels in Whitestown Youth Hockey. Coach Courtney will assess the need for additional assistance after a few weeks of instruction.

4) Per USA Hockey and New York State, masks are required for all players who are not socially distanced. Due to the nature of LTS and the age of the players we understand that this can be difficult. If your child is at the age where they can wear a mask, please send them with one. Coaches will be wearing masks at all times.

Thank you.
