What is OCHC? Please see our FAQ!
As another hockey season quickly approaches, we want to educate our memberships on the base costs associated with a season of hockey. New Hartford Youth Hockey and Whitestown Youth Hockey's partnership as Oneida County Hockey Club (OCHC) are looking forward to working together in the coming year to provide a strong hockey program in our area. Please note, the numbers below are not what our 2022-2023 registration costs will be. This is simply a snapshot we want to share. Over the years, our programs have diligently worked to keep costs down as ice rentals, referees and other operating expenses have been on the rise. Click HERE to review the cost breakdown.
AN IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR EVERYONE
Officiating in youth sports across the country is being confronted with similar fates: a decline in officials due to a lack of respect from adults. Many young officials put their stripes on for the first time, excited and eager to pursue a hockey dream. Just like our kids on the ice playing, they are learning and perfecting their craft. But the dream, too many times, is met with yelling or arguing from adults at rinks.
There is a human element to officiating. Every person that walks into a rink is accountable for his or her actions. As adults, we can set positive examples to our children about how to handle conflict and disagreements, with respect. And at its core, hockey is built on respect.
That handshake line we all love at the end of the hockey games? The stick salute to our opponents? It's all to show respect.
Read more about how we can enact the change we wish to see when it comes to respect, and how we can build a better future for our young officials.

OCHC 14U TB TEAM WINS NEXUS CENTER GRAND OPENING SERIES TOURNAMENT
The OCHC 14U state bound team helped open the Nexus Center in style as part of the "Grand Opening Tournament Series" during the weekend of November 18-20 as the team beat the Saratoga Blue Knights, 7-6 Sunday afternoon in a wild shootout to clinch the Bantam AA Championship.
After finishing 2-1 in the round-robin (including a 3-1 loss) OCHC pulled away in the 3rd period of their semifinal against the Utica Jr. Comets AA team to win by a score of 5-1, setting up a rematch with Saratoga. The teams exchanged goals twice before a tally by Landon Gentile gave OCHC a 3-2 lead late in the second period. Undaunted, the Blue Knights ran off 3 consecutive goals early in the 3rd to take a 5-3 lead with 13:38 to go. OCHC, however, refused to roll over and struck back with 3 consecutive goals of their own, including a power play goal by Jayden Skutnik that gave OCHC a 6-5 lead with 7:37 to go. Saratoga tied the game up two minutes later and it looked like the game was headed to overtime. But with just over a minute to go, defenseman Chad Hull picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone, drove the net, and got the game-winner past the Saratoga goalie with 1:08 to go.
Congratulations to OCHC- The Nexus Center Grand Opening Series Bantam AA Tournament Champions
